Fought in the Java Sea with Exeter, whose failed retreat she covered; Perth and Houston survived the battle alone among major Allied ships. Both were destroyed in the Sunda Strait. A regatta is held annually in Perth in her honor, and she is the only foreign warship honored in Arlington National Cemetery.

History Trivia
- Perth is actually a ship of the Royal Australian Navy, but in the game she is a representative of Britain.
- HMAS Perth is the only non-American ship that is commemorated at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, USA.
- Perth's name is shared by two other RAN ships, HMAS Perth (D 38) the Perth-class guided-missile destroyer that served from 1965-1999 and HMAS Perth (FFH 157) the Anzac-class frigate that was commissioned in 2006 and still serves today
