Started the war as the flagship of the 2nd Cruiser Squadron. Hunted Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and defended the British Isles until her transfer to the Mediterranean in November 1940 - just in time for Cape Spartivento. Severely damaged by a German air raid and scuttled by Orion in January 1941.
