Since "Linux" is a wide-ranging term covering dozens of flavors, it is not possible to say for absolute certainty that Victory Belles can run on a specific distribution of Linux. However, the ability to do so is highly likely considering generic "Linux" is more closely related to Android than Windows.
Currently, there are no emulators available for Linux that can run commercial Android games by default. Some alternatives as of yet (September 2021) untested for Victory Belles are the emulator [https://www.genymotion.com/ Genymotion], the compatibility layer [https://anbox.io/ Anbox] and the unofficial OS port [https://www.android-x86.org/ Android-x86]. As these methods are not confirmed to work and involve using rooted filesystems, which may be detected as cheating, they are therefore '''not recommended'''.

Revision as of 16:39, 28 September 2021

While Victory Belles is first and foremost a mobile game targeting iOS and Android devices, it is absolutely possible to enjoy the game on a Windows or Mac computer.

There is no web version, and likely won't ever be.

Please understand that while the below processes generally function, they are not officially supported in any way by Black Chicken Studios. Any questions should be directed to the Victory Belles community, not the developers.

Victory Belles contains at most Live2D graphics, no fully 3D rendering involved, so significant graphical processing power is not required. Thus, most Android emulators will competently play the game so long as they contain at least Android version 7.1.2 (the lowest any testing has been conducted in as of September 2021). The game works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Android.

Warning, Here Be Dragons![edit | edit source]

This guide will grow and become more detailed (including screenshots). It will begin as text-only.

  1. Download a reputable Android emulation environment. One example is LDPlayer, which does contain non-intrusive ads on startup that can be closed. Please add other freeware environments which produce a positive experience.
  2. It is recommended to set the "Manufacturer" and "Model" values in the emulator before connecting to a Google account for the first time, as those values will not refresh later on Google's end if you change them after connecting. The reason for this is because the "device" you add via emulation will then be very obvious in the Google App Store--for example, "MyPC LDPlayer" rather than "Samsung GenericPhone."
  3. Connect your Google account on the emulator.
  4. Install Victory Belles from the Google Play Store onto "MyPC LDPlayer" or whatever you named your emulated device.
  5. Create a Victory Belles account, or log into an existing one.
  6. Start the game. If you need to redeem backer rewards, be sure to do so in the game's options.

Synchronization[edit | edit source]

Victory Belles will do its best to keep your devices up-to-date with each other. Be aware that the process is not instant. The developers wrote in response to a question on this matter that "I wouldn't be switching back and forth rapidly and expect those results to be too synchronous. Playing on your tablet, and then heading out the door and playing on your phone is fine, though."

Current Apple Support[edit | edit source]

Apple supports running iOS apps like Victory Belles natively on a Mac computer if it has an Apple silicon processor such as the M1.

Current Linux Support[edit | edit source]

Currently, there are no emulators available for Linux that can run commercial Android games by default. Some alternatives as of yet (September 2021) untested for Victory Belles are the emulator Genymotion, the compatibility layer Anbox and the unofficial OS port Android-x86. As these methods are not confirmed to work and involve using rooted filesystems, which may be detected as cheating, they are therefore not recommended.

Future Microsoft Support[edit | edit source]

Windows 11 is supposed to gain the ability to run Android apps without installing additional software sometime in 2022. However, it will not ship with this capability in October 2021.

Once the capability arrives, this page will be updated.
